Notes on Androgyny explores the performance of gender identity in the media and via photography. The acquiring of images from various times and locales as well as the process of printing, drawing, scanning, inverting, reprinting the image and ascribing an arbitrary label mirrors the ambiguity and mutation of the social position of androgynous figures. The mediation of the image reflects the external assignment of identity.
